Port Washington
Location and Demographics - Port Washington is a bustling and diverse suburb of New York City. It and its villages are an active waterfront community located on a peninsula on the beautiful north shore of Long Island, New York. It is surrounded on 3 sides by the Long Island Sound, Manhasset Bay, and Hempstead Harbor and its borders lie within the Town of North Hempstead. Its villages and communities include Sands Point, Manhasset Bay Estates, Baxter Estates, Port Washington Estates, Port Washington North, Manorhaven, and the unincorporated village of Port Washington. As of the last census, it has a population of about 32,000.
Schools - Port Washington's schools boast student performance at the 93rd percentile at the State level and the 95th percentile in the national ranking, with 90% of its students going on to college. Its schools also have a student to low teacher ratio of 11.8 to 1. In addition to outstanding public schools, there are twenty-five private schools within six miles of the area.
Parent Resources - For parents, the area offers numerous resources ranging from preschools, science programs, dance schools, music schools, and parent resource centers such as the Port Washington Children's Center and the Parent Resource Center to provide parents with a place for preschool to elementary school-age children to go to for enrichment or care during or after school hours.

Commuting - The Port Washington train station is the last stop on a train line that runs directly into New York City and only 45 minutes away by express train.

Manhasset
Location and Demographics - Manhasset is a quiet, lovely suburb of New York City. It and its surrounding villages are a waterfront community consisting mostly of single family homes. Its villages and areas include Munsey Park, Plandome, Plandome Heights, parts of Flower Hill, parts of Plandome Manor, North Strathmore, South Strathmore, Strathmore Vanderbilt, Shorehaven, and the unincorporated area of Manhasset. It is located on the beautiful north shore of Long Island, New York, adjacent to Port Washington, and bordered on one side by Manhasset Bay and on the other by Hempstead Harbor. It is also home to the North Hempstead Town Hall. As of the last census, it has a population of about 22,000.
Schools - Manhasset schools boast student performance at the 95th percentile at the state level and the 96th percentile in the national ranking, with 85% of the students continuing on to college. Its schools also offer a low student to teacher ratio of 11.9:1. In addition to outstanding public schools, there are twenty-five private schools within six miles of the area.
